Rules and Regulations

  1. Participants can sign up for the following Event categories:

·      CycleFest Masters:  Male & Female 45 years old & above

·      CycleFest Open: Male & Female 18 years old & above

·      CycleFest Classic: Male & Female 18 years old & above

·      Pattaya Sprint: Male & Female 16 years old & above

·      Off Road Challenge: Male & Female 18 years old & above

·      Fun Ride: Male & Female 8 years old & above

·      Team Time Trials: Male & Female 18 years old & above

2. The age limit per age category will be based on the age of the Participant on the day of the event 2019.

3. If you are a Participant below 18 years of age, and have completed the wavier form online and submit the signed hard copy during event pack collection, you are deemed to have obtained consent from your parent or legal guardian to participate in the Event.

4. The following applies to The CycleFest Masters Ride:

  • Participants, who must be forty five (45) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate distance of 62km (4 laps).

5. The following applies to The CycleFest Open Ride:

  • Participants, who must be eighteen (18) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate distance of 62km (4 laps).

6. The following applies to The CycleFest Classic Ride:

  • Participants, who must be eighteen (18) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate distance of 46.5km (3 laps)

7. The following applies to The Pattaya Sprint Ride:

  • Participants, who must be sixteen (16) years of age and above, will ride for approximate distance of 31km (2 laps)

8. The following applies to The Off Road Challenge Ride:

  • Participants, who must be eighteen (18) years of age and above, will ride for an approximate distance of 40km (2 laps)

9. The following applies to The Fun Ride

  • Participants, who must be eight (8) years of age and above will ride for approximate duration of 1.5 hour

10. The following applies to the Team Time Trial:

·      Each team must comprise five (5) participants who are eighteen (18) years of age and above.

·      The team will ride three (3) laps on the 15.5km course.

·      The team Time Trial is a team event where the team may compete in Team Time trial format.

·      The final result of each team is calculated based on the time the 4th riders from the team crosses the finish line.

11. Participants who successfully complete the ride in their relevant Event category will be awarded:

·      A medal upon the presentation of their cycling bib to the respective officials on Event day.

·      A finisher e-certificate which will be downloadable within three (3) days of the completion of the event.

·      Participants in the Fun Ride will not have their time recorded.

  1. The following cycles are permitted in the Event:
  • Road Bike
  • Hybrid
  • Mountain Bike
  • Single Speed – must not be a fixed wheel
  • Foldable Bike
  • Bike with Disc Brake & Caliper Brake systems

All bicycles must be properly fitted with operational front and rear brakes.

  1. The following cycles are not permitted in the Event
  • Bikes with Disc Wheels/Rim Covers; only permitted in Team Time Trial
  • Bikes with Aero or Extension Bars; only permitted in Team Time Trial
  • Bikes with Child Seat (no pillion in any manner);
  • Specialist Time Trial Bikes or bikes with time trial / drop bar handle bars; only permitted in Team Time Trial
  • Motorised Bikes;
  • Unicycles;
  • Trailer Bikes;
  • Tandem bicycles;
  • Hand Cycles;
  • Trikes; and
  • Scooters

3. The following cycles are permitted in the Team Time Trial Event

  • Bikes with Disc Wheels/ Rim Covers;
  • Bikes with Aero or Extension Bars;
  • Specialist Time Trial Bikes;

Participants who attend the Event with unapproved bicycles will be prohibited from participating in the Event.

  1. All Participants must not:
  • Ride without an approved cycling helmet;
  • Ride without closed toe shoe;
  • Ride dangerously or negligently;
  • Wear any mobile music device while riding;
  • Use hand-held cameras or telephones while riding;
  • Ride with their pets
  1. All Participants must display the following while competing
  • Race number stickers on the front of your helmet
  • Race number sticker attached to the seat post
  1. All Participants must follow the designated routes and abide by the instructions given by the security, traffic management and Event officials throughout the Event.

AWARD

No prize money will be awarded to race winners; however top finishers will receive trophy and prizes from our sponsors as following:

  • CycleFest Masters
    1. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male Overall
    2. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female Overall
    3. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male Age 55 to 64
    4. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female Age 55 to 64
    5. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male Age 65 & Above
    6. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female Age 65 & Above
  • CycleFest Open
    1. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male
    2. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female
  • CycleFest Classic
    1. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male
    2. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female
  • Pattaya Sprint
    1. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male
    2. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female
  • Off Road Challenge
    1. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male Overall
    2. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female Overall
    3. 1st/2nd/3rd for Male Age 45 & Above
    4. 1st/2nd/3rd for Female Age 45 & Above
  • Fun Ride – No prizes will be awarded for this ride.
  • Team Time Trial
    1. 1st/2nd/3rd
  • Bangkok Bank CycleFest Overall Champion
    1. 1 Male Champion
    2. 1 Female Champion
    3. Point System:
  • Points will be awarded in all ride except the fun ride
  • Points are awarded based on results from 1st = 10 points through 10th = 1 point per ride. Only overall result is taken, age category winners won’t be awarded points
  • You must ride in a minimum of 2 rides to qualify for the award. For those who participated in more than 2 rides, the 2 best results will be taken.
  • TT results are calculated based on the overall team result. Ie, all riders in the team than finishes 2nd will be awarded 9 points each.

The following will be applied if there are less than 6 participants per award:

  • 2 or Less Participants/Teams – No award
  • 3 to 5 Participants/Teams – Only 1st will be awarded

CUT OFF TIMES

Each event ride has an allocated time for completion. If Event officials believe that a rider will not finish the ride in the overall event time then riders will be directed off the course into the finish area at the completion of a designated lap

  1. Participants are encouraged to consult their medical practitioners prior to registration and before participating in the Event.
  2. For safety reasons, if Event officials decide that Participants are unlikely to complete their ride within the ride duration, Event officials will divert them to designated diversion points along the route. Participation medals will still be issued to such affected Participants
  3. Participants must complete personal and emergency details during registration. Event bib are to be attached to their bike and helmet during the ride. If there is an emergency, the Event Organiser and medical personnel will refer to the registration form to contact the next-of-kin identified.
  4. If there is an emergency, medical personnel reserve the right:
  • to remove any Participants if they decide that he/she is unable to continue his/her ride; and
  • to send any casualties to the nearest recommended hospital.

5. All medical expenses outside of the onsite coverage provided by the organiser will be borne by the participants.

Protection Benefits (Baht)
Accidental loss of life, dismemberment, loss of sight or total permanent disability (Or. Bor. 1) while riding on a bicycle 100,000
Payment for medical expenses while riding on a bicycle 30,000

Event  Organiser  reserves the right to delay the start of any ride for safety reasons
